Career Development Checklist
1. Have your resume reviewed
- Schedule an appointment with the Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development; some appointments are available at the Health Sciences Building.
- Explore the Decker Student, Career and Alumni Connections event calendar for Fleishman hours and employer visits; employers often offer r茅sum茅 reviews/mock interviews during these events.
2. Schedule a mock interview
- Visit the Decker Student, Career and Alumni Connections event calendar to see if there are any employer visits with available appointments.

- Employers will often offer mock interviews. If not, Fleishman also offers mock interviews.
3. Complete a professional headshot
- The Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development has an where you can get a free professional headshot in minutes.
- Use a professional headshot for your LinkedIn account.
4. Create a LinkedIn account
- Marketing yourself is important!
- We also recommend changing other social media accounts to private.
5. Create a professional email account:
- Use your first and last name for your email. Example: Jane.Smith@gmail.com
- Update your voicemail to include your full name. Example: "Hello, this is Jane Smith, I can't come to the phone right now, please leave a message."
Tips and Tricks for applying
- Use a plain background if interviewing on Zoom.
- Research the potential employer to show your interest.
- If you are expecting a call, answer your phone with your full name "Hello, this is Jane Smith."
- Prepare to ask during your interview. The interviewer may answer some of them during the interview; be prepared with more questions.

CHOP Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program
A one year .
Interested applicants for the Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program at Children鈥檚 Hospital of Philadelphia should be aware of several important dates in the application process:
Oct. 1: Residency application period opens
Nov. 30: Residency application period closes
Jan. 1 鈥 Feb. 20: Interview invitations are extended to applicants, and conducted with applicants

Upward Bound Summer Program (RN Opportunity)
Looking for a Registered Nurse who will work a split shift for approximately 120 hours throughout the summer, with an average of 24 hours a week, including some weekends. The nurse will provide health support for our campers and staff, distribute daily meds, provide limited record keeping, and communicate with program students, parents and staff members throughout the summer.

Student Assistant in Commencement/ Special Events Office
The Presidents office is looking for a in commencement/special events office.
- Handle incoming calls and emails and provide general information to students, parents, faculty and staff
- Assist with event and ceremony planning including but not limited to management of registration and forms, coordinating with vendors and setting up event spaces.
- MUST be available to work at Commencement (May 14, 15 & 16, 2026).

Spring 2026 Interprofessional Education Program Graduate Assistant Opportunity
The for the Interprofessional Education Program provides support for various IPE course activities. Duties may include:
- Administrative support for IPE instructors
- Technical support for synchronous IPE activities
- Course coordination and monitoring Administrative support for the IPE Committee
- Attending committee meetings and note-taking
- Developing IPE newsletter
- Event planning
- Data gathering and presentation
- Support for ongoing assessment and research initiatives
- Support for IPE research project
The Graduate Assistant will have the opportunity to support faculty members across the interprofessional education programs including Advanced Practice Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Social Work.

CHOP Summer Nurse Extern Program
from May to July, externs apply academic knowledge to participate in educational seminars, and provide hands-on patient care alongside nurse preceptors. Externs rotate through units across CHOP, including Middleman Family Pavilion (KOP), Ambulatory, Perioperative, Behavioral Health, Medical/Surgical, and Critical Care.
Open to students enrolled in an RN program who are within 12 months of graduation by the start of the externship.

designed to help stimulate career interest and foster the professional development of potential pediatric oncology nurses.
The program is open to students enrolled in an RN nursing program that will be within 12 months of graduation at the start of the program.

Undergraduate Conference Presentation Fund
The External Scholarships and Undergraduate Research Center (ESURC) supports faculty-mentored undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity. We encourage undergraduates to pursue scholarly and creative projects and to present their results at regional and national professional meetings or conferences.
Support is available from the ESURC to help undergraduate students subsidize the cost of participating in professional meetings or conferences. This support could help alleviate registration costs (both virtual and in-person), travel expenses, lodging, and food.

The Clifford D. Clark Fellowship is designed to direct aid to graduate/professional students who have demonstrated academic achievement and overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education. Healthcare Workers for Our Future Scholarship
The 鈥溾 Scholarship provides a two-year scholarship to approximately 500 selected recipients covering tuition, room and board, and other related expenses in an approved program of study at any approved New York state public or private college or university.
