Our Communities

College-in-the-Woods (CIW) is centrally located across from The Union and yes, we do have lots of trees! Our five buildings offer both suite-style and corridor-style living. CIW traditions range from Woods Jam and Casino-in-the-Woods in the spring to Woods Olympics and CIW Fall Fest in the fall.

Dickinson Community has four buildings which are all flat-style and one building for first-years which is corridor-style. We share the largest dining hall on campus and Student Success Center in C4. We have one of the first traditions of spring — Mutant Mania!

Hinman is right across from the Lecture Hall and has 4- and 6-person suites. We're known for our spirit, community service and leadership and we have the largest student governments on campus which hosts Hysteria and Dorm Wars. We also have our own theatre company and a new Dining Center!

Mountainview offers both suite-style and designed-triple corridor rooms in four buildings across from our Nature Preserve with the best view on campus. We celebrate the crossing of our salamanders in the spring with Salamander Days and have fun with families in the fall with our Fall in Love with Mountainview traditions.

Newing has four corridor-style buildings up the hill from our East Gym. We are the home of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Scholars Program. Our residents have access to the biggest dining hall on campus, the C4 Student Success Center and we host the hugely popular Newing Navy tradition in the spring.

Want a single? Upperclassmen and transfers have the option of living in our Apartments Community, consisting of Hillside and Susquehanna. These buildings offer single bedrooms and full kitchens within 2, 4 and 6-room apartments. Residents can socialize in Hillside Commons and have many networking events every semester.
